1790 Census does not exist for Kentucky. 1800 Census lost for Kentucky. Tax lists substitute. 1810 Census shows head of household as only name. Lists the number of free white males in the following categories: under 10; 10 and under 16; 16 and under 26; 26 and under 45; 45 and older. Lists number of free white females in the same categories as for males. Effective census date was the first Monday in August 1810. 1820 Census entry shows name of the head of the household; number of free white males in the following categories: under 10; 10 and under 16; between 16 and 18; 16 and under 26; 26 and under 45; 45 and older. Lists free white females in the same categories as males except for between 16 and 18. Effective census date was the first Monday in August 1820. 1830 Census entry shows name of head of the household; number of free white males in the following categories: under 5; 5 and under 10; 10 and under 15; 15 and under 20; 20 and under 30; 30 and under 40; 40 and under 50; 50 and under 60; 60 and under 70; 70 and under 80; 80 and under 90; 90 and under 100; 100 and older. Females are listed in the same categories as for males. This census also listed the number of persons who were blind or deaf-mute. Each entry shows name; sex, color (white, black, or mulatto); occupation for those over the age of 15; value of real estate owned; state, territory, or country of birth; whether attended school or married within the year; whether blind, deaf-mute; insane, an idiot, a pauper, or a convict. There were separate census schedules which listed those who had died during the previous 12 months ending 1 June 1850 (but are not extant for Fayette County, Kentucky). Effective census date was 1 June 1850. 1860 Census entries include name of each person in the household; age; sex; color (white, black, or mulatto); occupation of persons over 15; value of real estate; value of personal estate; name of state, territory, or country of birth; whether married within the year; whether blind, deaf-mute, insane, an idiot, a pauper, or a convict. There were a separate census schedules which listed those who had died during the previous 12 months ending 1 June 1860. Effective date was 1 June 1860. 1870 Census entries include dwelling numbered in order of visitation; family numbered in order of visitation; name of every person who lived in this household as of 1 June 1870; age at last birthday; if under one year, age stated in fraction (i.e. 1/12); sex; color (white, black, mulatto, Chinese, or Indian); profession; trade or occupation; value of real estate owned; value of personal property; place of birth (state, territory, or country, whether foreign born); whether father and/or mother foreign born, if married within the year; whether attended school with the year; whether can read or write; whether blind, deaf and dumb, insane, or idiotic; and other information. Effective census date was 1 June 1870. 1880 Census entry page names county, post office or city street and house number. Effective census date was 1 June 1900. 1910 Census entry pages show county, township and ward, and for city residents, street and house number. Entries show name of each person in the household; sex; color or race; age at last birthday; marital status; number of years in present marriage; number of children born to wife, widow, or divorcee, and the number of those children living; birthplace and, if foreign born, mother tongue; birthplace of both parents; whether can speak English; occupation; employed in what industry; whether out of work on 15 April 1910; number weeks unemployed during 1909; whether able to read and write; whether attended school any time since 1 September 1909; whether house is owned or rented; whether lives in house or on a farm and whether it is mortgage free; whether a Civil War veteran; and whether blind or deaf and dumb. Effective census date was 15 April 1910. 1920 Census page shows county, city, township, and Enumeration District. For cities, name of street and house number, whether residence is a house or farm. Each entry shows dwelling number and family number; name of each person whose place of abode on 1 January 1920 was in this family; relationship to head of the household; whether home owned or rented; if home owned, whether mortgage free; sex; color or race; age at last birthday; whether single, married, widowed, or divorced; whether attended school anytime since 1 September 1919; Whether can read and write; place of birth for self and parents; mother tongue; whether able to speak English; trade or profession, industry where employed; whether an employer, salary or wage worker; or self employed; citizenship and immigration information. Effective census date was 1 January 1920. 1930 Census page shows county, city, township, and Enumeration District. For city residents, street name and house number; dwelling number, family number; name of each person whose place of abode on 1 April 1930, was in this family; relationship to the head of the household; whether home owned or rented; value of home, if owned; whether in possession of a radio set; whether lives on farm; sex; color or race; age at last birthday; marital status; age at first marriage; whether attended school at any time since 1 September 1929; whether able to read and write; place of birth; place of birth of parents; native tongue; citizenship; occupation; type industry where employed; whether presently employed; whether a military veteran.
