10. ELIJAH3 H. ROBINSON (
John2,
Joseph1).
He was born about 1819 and died after 1880. Elijah H. Robinson married
KESIAH E. [—?—].
88 Elijah, age 31, a carpenter, was living in the
household of his father, John Robinson, in the 1850 federal census for
Fayette County, Kentucky. By 1860 he was living, age 42, in Lincoln
County, Kentucky, with his brother, Joseph (listed as head of
household), and his sister Elizabeth and her two children. In 1870,
Elijah was still in Lincoln County, age 51 (or age 57), with real
estate valued at $8,000 and personal estate valued at $1,000. Elijah is
listed as head of household, with Kesiah E., age 30, and four children,
David, age 5; Sallie A., age 4; William ?Z, age 2; and Mary E., age 1,
and his brother Joseph Robinson, age 63.
Presumably Elijah married after the 1860 census. Elijah
Robinson, age 56 (sic), is found in the 1880 federal census for Jackson
County, Missouri, page 271C, Westport township, with children Sallie
(age 14), who was listed as “keeping house,” David (age 16), William
(age 12), Mary (age 10), and Katie (age 5). No wife listed for Elijah.
The mother of all the children was listed as having been born in
Missouri. Elijah’s brother Joseph Robinson was living with the family.
Elijah, along with his brother Joseph, was an executor to his
father’s estate
An Elijah Robinson was appointed Fayette County Commissioner of Tax for
the year 1850 for the district bounded by the Richmond turnpike,
Winchester, and Nicholasville Turnpike roads. This was probably our
Elijah although I cannot be certain. Robert Marshall was his surety for
a $500 bond. Records show he filed an account for compensation as
assessor of County tax in the amount of $36.96 for a listing of 462
accounts at 8 cents per listing, less $7.39, which was 20 percent
returned “by law.”89
While in Fayette County, Elijah was a member of Boone’s Creek Baptist
Church at Athens and is mentioned in the church records as being
involved in church business. Church records show he was dismissed by
letter the third Saturday in November of 1852.

11. MARY ANN3 ROBINSON
(
John2,
Joseph1).
She was born about 1821 or 1822, probably Clark County, Kentucky, and
died after 1870.
91 Mary Ann was married 22 February 1846, to
WILLIAM GARNETT, by B. E. Allen
92 Fayette County,
Kentucky. William Garnett was born circa 1820. He is named in the
estate records of John Robinson as William M. Garnett, and as William
M. Garnett in the 1860 federal census for Lincoln County, Kentucky, but
his marriage bond is written to William H. Garnett and his signature on
the bond appears to be William H. Garnett. He is not to be confused
with William H. Garnett who married Sarah E. Berry, daughter of Edwin
E. Berry and a sister of James C. Berry (who was a witness to John
Robinson’s will). Edwin E. Berry was probably a son of John Berry, who
was an uncle of Sarah (Berry) Robinson.
Mary Ann was a member of Boone’s Creek Baptist Church at
Athens and was dismissed by letter the third Saturday in November of
1852. Mary Ann and her husband, William Garnett, moved to Lincoln
County, Kentucky, and are listed there in the 1860 federal census: W.
M. Garnett, age 40, a farmer with real estate valued at $3,675 and
personal estate valued at $3,000; with Mary A., age 38; Frank C.
Bannon, age 55, a laborer; and Henry D. Berry, age 14. William and Mary
Ann Garnett probably did not have children.
12. ELIZABETH3 ROBINSON
(
John2,
Joseph1).
She was born 16 July 1824,
93 probably Clark County, Kentucky, and died
after 1880.
94 Elizabeth was married by B. E. Allen, 8 June
1843, to REUBEN A. BRYANT,
95 born 4 January 1819, died 28 September 1852
(or 4 September 1852),
96 Lincoln County, Kentucky. Reuben possibly was
the son of George Smith Bryant and Keziah Arnold as found on the LDS
web site.
97
Reuben Bryant is buried in the Benjamin Logan Cemetery, Buffalo
Springs, Lincoln County, Kentucky.
In 1850, Reuben and Elizabeth Bryant were living in Jessamine
County, Kentucky, where they are found in the Federal Census for that
year: Reuben Bryant, age 31, a farmer with real estate valued at
$6,000; Elizabeth Bryant, age 26; Ann Bryant, age 6; and John H.
Bryant, age 1. The 1860 federal census for Lincoln County, Kentucky,
lists Elizabeth Bryant, age 35, with personal property of $3,000 and
her children, J. H. E. Bryant and Anna M. Bryant, each with personal
property valued at $2,000; all living with Elizabeth’s brothers, Joseph
and Elijah Robinson. The 1880 federal census for Peabody, Marion
County, Kansas, pages 117A and B, lists Elizabeth Bryant (age 56),
“mother-in-law,” living with her daughter Anna and Anna’s husband
Elkanah, and their children. Elizabeth was widowed at a young age when
Reuben died in 1852 but, judging by this 1880 census record, apparently
never remarried. In Fayette County, Kentucky, Elizabeth was a member of
Boone’s Creek Baptist Church at Athens and was dismissed by letter the
third Saturday in November of 1852.

By 1880, Annie and Elkanah Bush had moved to Peabody, Marion County,
Kansas. The 1880 federal census for Marion County, Kansas (pages 117A
and B; dwelling number 157, family number 172), lists Elkanah Bush (age
46) with his wife Anna (age 36), sons Reuben (age 18), Pleasant (age
16), Robert (age 12), Elijah (age 12), Nelson (age 11), Willie (age 9),
and Joseph (age 7). Elizabeth Bryant, age 56, “mother-in-law” is listed
immediately following Elkanah’s family. |

13. SARAH3 CATHERINE ROBINSON (
John2,
Joseph1);
She was possibly born about 1829.
100
“Kitty”, age 21, was living in the household of her father, John
Robinson, in the 1850 federal census for Fayette County, Kentucky. I
did not look at marriage bonds after 1850 and do not know if she
married. Perhaps Sarah Catherine moved to Lincoln County, Kentucky,
about 1852 with her brothers Joseph and Elijah where her sisters Mary
Ann Garnett and Elizabeth Bryant were already living. A Sarah C.
Robinson and Andrew McRoberts, married 13 September 1854
101
in Lincoln County, but I have no other information to determine if this
is our Sarah Catherine. Boone’s Creek Baptist Church records, Athens,
Fayette County, Kentucky, show she joined “by experience” on the third
Saturday in October of 1842. She was dismissed by letter from Boone’s
Creek Church the third Saturday in November of 1852. I have no records
of her after this date.
